The province of Cavite is acknowledged as the “Cradle of Philippine Independence” because it is here where many of the Battles against Spain were fought. And nationhood was ultimately proclaimed in Kawit, Cavite on June 12, 1898.

Cavite is the nearest province to Metro Manila connected by Cavite Coastal Road, South Luzon Expressway ( SLEX ) and Old Quirino Avenue. Because of this proximity, the province has become a top choice for relocation by city dwellers giving rise to hundreds of residential subdivisions. It is also a top pick for export zones and international industries setting up assembly lines in the country because of it’s vast land area and abundant human resources. These migration and industrialization led to the rapid urbanization of Cavite especially the construction of new roads with changing landscape.

The province is dotted with historic sites as figured in the country’s libertarian struggles. These include the AGUINALDO SHRINE & PARK in Kawit, Cavite ( where independence was declared ) and FORT SAN FELIPE in Cavite City ( which served as the Naval Base during the Spanish Era ). The Century-Old Churches in Bacoor, Kawit, Tanza, Naic, Maragondon, General Trias and Silang are magnificent houses of worship during revolution.

One of Cavite’s top destinations is TAGAYTAY, ( the country’s “Second Summer Capital” ) because of it’s cool breeze the whole year round. Perched on the ridge of an extinct volcano, it affords visitors a breathtaking view of TAAL LAKE & TAAL VOLCANO ( the world’s smallest active volcano ). Such unobstructed VISTA can be best viewed from the TAGAYTAY PICNIC GROVE or PEOPLE’S PALACE IN THE SKY, which are frequently visited by families during weekends.

As a business and leisure haven, Cavite also abounds with hotels and resorts with world-class facilities namely, Mount Sea Grand Resort in Tanza, Mount Sea Fiesta Resort in Rosario, Puerto Azul Beach Resort and Caylabne Bay Resort Hotel in Tagaytay. Island Cove Resort and Leisure Park in Kawit, Taal Vista Hotel and Estancia Resort Hotel in Tagaytay.

Look across the mouth of Manila Bay and you will see CORREGIDOR ISLAND. This island fortress became famous as the location of the last stand made by American and Filipino troops under General Wainwright during WW II. Now, a monument to those courageous men who defended her, CORREGIDOR offers travellers an overnight accommodation and a journey into a poignant period of history for those who visit this famous battlefield.

TODAY, Cavite is also known for the presence of some of the best and world-class golf courses in the country including Manila Southwoods Golf Course, Sherwood Hills Golf Course & Country Club, Tagaytay Highlands, The Orchard Golf & Country Club, Riviera Golf & Country Club and SOUTH FORBES GOLF CITY.
